The basic game in Left 4 Dead is to place four (4) players into a place surrounded by zombies - that's why there are four in the title. The task of players in every mission is to work together to survive and reach the meeting point of rescue.

It is not clear the beginning of humans who are on location in the game turned into a zombie. But it is not a problem considering the game is more emphasis on multiplayer than the story.

Among the zombies even have a special ability, here are some of them:

Smoker, is a zombie that will stick out his tongue to tie the prey.
Bomber, is a type of zombie that can remove the liquid so that eliminates the view of players.
Tanks, perhaps the most powerful zombie in this game, can throw cars even to demolish buildings.
Hunter, is a fast-moving zombie and can hit players to bounce away
Witch, the only zombie that will not attack as long as it is not blinded by light or disturbed by the sound of gunfire. But the player must be extra careful with Witch, the reason he could have killed a player with just one hit.
